Kyla Duhart LCSW, Cedar Ridge Counseling
I am a therapist that believes the relationship between counselor and client is vital to the therapeutic process. I pride myself on creating bonds with each client that I see. I have extensive training in therapeutic interventions such as CBT, Trauma Processing, IFS, DBT, and more. My goal is to weave these interventions seamlessly into our sessions so that things don’t feel too technical. My goal is to provide a comfortable, safe, and judgment-free space that you feel confident returning to each week.

Additionally, I am a body positive provider who believes in Health at Every Size and has experience treating eating disorders. I am an affirming and allied therapist for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals. Our sessions will always remain a safe space for you to explore every aspect of yourself. Together, we will create a plan to support your therapy goals.

In my nearly 10 years practicing as a therapist, I have helped countless clients achieve their goals and return to high levels of functioning. I hope that I will be able to do the same for you and your loved ones.

Betsy Hansen, LCPC

Kyla Duhart LCSW, Cedar Ridge Counseling
I specialize in providing therapy for people who are struggling to find identity and meaning after their sense of self has been ruptured. My areas of expertise include coercive control, cults and high control organizations, spiritual or religious abuse, deconstruction, and narcissistic abuse. Related specialty areas include gender dysphoria, substance abuse, survivors of sexual violence, sex work, and grief. Because of my ongoing work in these areas, I find that my therapeutic style can be beneficial for others who have experienced the stress of high demand environments, such as healthcare workers, athletes, executives, business owners, and educators.

My approach is intersectional and liberation oriented, and I invite my clients to challenge social structures and systems in an effort to determine their own values and belief system. Clients can expect therapy with me to be approachable, affirming, safe, and consistent. Whenever possible, I encourage humor, art, music, and storytelling in session to reinforce our shared humanity and provide a counterbalance to the emotional labor of this process.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland since 2014, and have previous experience in inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities since 2003. I am a board approved supervisor for provisionally licensed counselors.
