Francesca Singleton, LCSW-C

Kyla Duhart LCSW, Cedar Ridge Counseling

Francesca Singleton, LCSW-C, is a therapist and a board approved social work supervisor in Maryland. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services at Towson University and her MSW from University of Maryland, Baltimore. Francesca began her career as an inpatient social worker at Sheppard Pratt while providing mobile crisis response services at BCRI part-time. Francesca then moved on to a program director role at B’More Clubhouse in Baltimore City, where she led the organization according to the Clubhouse International model of long-term mental health recovery.

Currently, Francesca works full time as a hospice social worker and has also provided individual therapy to adults at Cedar Ridge for the past 6 years. Born and raised in Frederick, Maryland, Francesca has lived in the Baltimore area for the past 10 years. She is passionate about normalizing the experience of mental illness for individuals as a means to fight the stigma still encountered by many in today’s society.

Francesca approaches therapy through an attachment-oriented, client-centered lens and utilizes a blended theory approach to guide specific interventions. Most importantly, Francesca values the therapeutic relationship itself as the catalyst to growth and healing. She is often described by her clients as laid-back, warm, and funny.

Francesca’s areas of experience include: Trauma, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, mood disorders, grief and bereavement, life transitions, domestic abuse, interpersonal conflict, and crisis intervention. She is typically requested for therapy by young adults (18-35) but gladly works with adults of all ages. Francesca has a special interest in working with family members of individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness.

Francesca currently does not have any openings for therapy and does not keep a waitlist. As a social work supervisor, Francesca is a good fit for LMSWs in mental health, medical, hospice, or macro/administrative roles. If you are an LMSW interested in individual or group supervision, please email Francesca at [email protected] to learn more.

Amy L. Rich, LCPC

Amy L. Rich, LCPC

Kyla Duhart LCSW, Cedar Ridge Counseling
Amy L. Rich has almost 20 years experience as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, although she has had a lifelong interest in learning about people, and what makes them “tick.”

After earning her Master’s Degree from Loyola University in Maryland in 2002, and a Certificate of Advanced Study in 2013, Amy has enjoyed working with adults and couples. She takes an holistic approach in working with clients, addressing all aspects of the individual (mental, emotional, physical, and, if the client desires, spiritual.) She also practices from a client-center, positive psychology model. Instead of viewing the client as “ill” and needing to be cured, Amy seeks to help the clients identify their strengths, and use these as a catalyst for change.

Amy’s areas of interest in her work with clients include mood disorders (such as anxiety and depression) grief and loss, chronic illness and pain, LGBTQ issues, and adjusting to major life changes. While working toward licensure, she completed a fellowship in loss and bereavement at the Spiritual and Bereavement Care Center with Hospice of the Chesapeake. As a trained pastoral counselor, Amy recognizes that spirituality and faith can be positive aspects of one’s life, but she is also aware that people may have been wounded in this area. Amy welcomes the opportunity to work with people of varied (or no) spiritual practices and faith traditions and seeks to bring compassion and care to all.

In addition to her counseling work, Amy enjoys providing supervision to students and entry-level counselors who are seeking licensure, as well as consultative services to other therapists. As she notes, her supervisors (while she was in training) modeled the process in a very positive way, and she is grateful for opportunities to give back to the counseling community.
