Patricia Messina is a dedicated and compassionate psychotherapist specializing in trauma, addiction, marriage and family therapy and grief counseling. With a Master of Science degree from the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Slippery Rock University, Patricia possesses a strong academic foundation and a profound understanding of mental health.

Her professional journey began as an addictions counselor, where she spent 12 years honing her skills in helping individuals navigate the complexities of addiction. Fueled by her passion for supporting others, Patricia established her private practice in Stuart, Florida where she offered a safe and nurturing environment for her clients facing emotional distress and personal challenges
Patricia is committed to lifelong learning and has pursued advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman Couples counseling, and gambling addiction. Currently she is expanding her expertise through studies in psychodrama, further enhancing her ability to facilitate healing and growth.

In addition to her clinical work, Patricia has collaborated with the court system, addressing issues such as parental alienation, anger management and DUI-related cases. Her experience in these areas underscores her ability to work effectively with individuals recommended by the court, providing essential therapeutic support.

Recently relocated to Frederick, Maryland, Patricia is eager to continue her mission of helping those suffering from emotional pain, grief and family conflict. She is particularly passionate about assisting individuals who have experienced trauma, whether in childhood, throughout their lives, or from recent traumatic events. Through her genuine empathy and expert guidance, Patricia empowers her clients to heal and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore, Maryland. I have many years of experience providing individual therapy, couples therapy and family therapy. I believe in the eclectic therapeutic approach as each client’s situation and goals are unique. I believe in addressing my client’s needs from a strength-based perspective. I value the importance of developing trust in the client/therapist relationship by providing empathy, support and encouragement.

My areas of expertise include alcohol and substance use treatment, dual diagnosis, trauma, depression, anxiety, mood and personality disorders, anger management, stress management, relational and family conflict.

Marie Steffens, LCSW-C has over 15 years of social work experience. Marie graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Work at Florida State University. Marie has had experience working with children, teens, adults and older adults, including working with the elderly and their caregivers. Marie has worked in outpatient mental health therapy settings in person and virtual. Marie is a Board approved Supervisor in Maryland and District of Columbia. Marie utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, solution focused, as well as other approaches as a client needs. Marie is currently seeing individuals in person and virtually. Marie has experience with anxiety, low self-esteem, unresolved childhood trauma, strained relationships and managing daily stressors.

Meet Rocky Cole, LGPC, CTP

Rocky became a psychotherapist because of a deep desire to help people who are struggling or in pain.

“I want to treat every client as a unique individual and meet them where they are on their journey. My goal is simply to help a client heal and to get to where they want to be in life. Fundamentally, I believe people are not broken, but may need help to change their way of being in the world in order to find happiness and peace.” ~Rocky Cole

Rocky’s approach is to first understand the history and nature of an individual and to clearly define the client’s goals and needs. He believes this is the first step in helping a person live a better life or resolve a problem. He believes that through active, non-judgmental support and guidance, long-lasting growth and healing can be achieved.

Rocky is a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) with experience working with people who have experienced trauma in their lives and are suffering from anxiety, depression, or relationship problems as a result.

He believes in using an approach that is tailored to the individual. His experience in psychodynamic therapy, cognitive therapy, and person-centered therapy allows him to create the environment people need in order to change.

He works with adults, adolescents, and couples.

In his free-time, Rocky enjoys coaching soccer, reading, creating art, and hiking with his family.

In 2000, Sasha earned a degree in Sociology from The University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). With ambitions of a career change, she then completed her degree in Social Work from Hood College in 2012. Finally in 2013, Sasha achieved a Masters of Social Work from The University of Maryland Baltimore with a concentration in clinical social work and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Currently, Sasha is a LCSW-C (Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical) licensed by the State of Maryland and is a member in good standing of The National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Sasha began her professional career in real estate and for more than 20 years assisted families in making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. After a number of years, Sasha recognized her natural ability and desire to help people in a greater, more meaningful capacity and began to pursue her desire to become a social worker. At the beginning of her career, Sasha worked at Springfield Hospital Center working with chronically and severely ill patients and as an Employee Assistance Program Counselor with Montgomery County Public Schools. Adding to her broadening experience, Sasha was a Program Therapist for adolescents detained by the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services before transitioning to providing treatment an In-Patient Hospital Therapist at Brook Lane. Sasha also provided home and school based therapy to children and families for Advanced Counseling Services. Most recently, Sasha worked for Family Healthcare of Hagerstown, a non-profit community health center providing therapy for individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, delusional disorders, grief and loss, parenting challenges, trauma and, more.

She believes the best way to evoke change is to actively partner with clients in the therapeutic process. She helps her patients determine their goals and then, uses a strengths-based and solution focused perspective as well as a cognitive behavioral approach to engage her clients and work towards change. Her areas of expertise include depression, delusional disorders, anxiety, stress management, self-esteem, grief and loss, anger management, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, aging issues, the process of grief, parenting challenges, relationships, separation and divorce.
