Mach is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LCPC), who specializes in working with children, adolescents, teens, and adults. Mach has experience in working with individuals coping with depression, anxiety, problems at school, family and relationships. Mach has worked with high school students in both Baltimore County and Baltimore City Public Schools. As a school counselor, Mach has experience in leading different levels of interventions, including one-on-one, small group, classroom lessons, and school-wide interventions.

Mach uses a variety of clinical techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and person-centered therapy. She believes that clients have the power to change and the ability to overcome any obstacle with the right guidance.

Mach obtained her BA in Communication Studies and an MS in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University, her second MS in School Counseling and a Post Masters Certificate in Clinical Mental Health from The Johns Hopkins University. Mach is also a certified K-12 school counselor in the state of Maryland.

Amy Arbaugh Martin is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) with more than 20 years’ experience in primary care and mental health. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Currently, Amy is treating ages 18 and over, specializing in medication management for a variety of mental health issues such as, but not limited to:

  • Depression

  • Attention Deficit

  • Mood disorder

  • Sleep disorders

  • Anxiety

  • Addictions

  • Schizoaffective disorders

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders

Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing at University of Maryland in 1990. She then obtained her master’s degree in Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner at University of Maryland in 1996. Shortly after obtaining her master’s degree, she earned a Post -Masters Certification at George Washington University as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1998. She is Board Certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner and holds an active license with the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Professionally, Amy has experience working with diverse populations in a variety of settings. For more than 20 years, Amy has provided mental health services in Primary Care offices, addiction treatment facilities, detention centers, hospice and palliative care offices and health departments. Her focus has always included mental health treatment as she incorporates it into the well-being of each patient’s overall health.

Amy was born in Carroll County and currently lives there with her husband and children. She loves the outdoors, camping, watching her children play sports and reading a good book

Betsy Hansen draws from both cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness practices to help her clients access greater mental and emotional wellness. Betsy has experience in working with individuals coping with concerns related to depression, anxiety, fertility, trauma, chronic pain, addiction, gender and sexuality, eating disorders, and relationships.She primarily sees adolescents and adults for individual therapy.

Betsy has been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland since 2014, and has previous experience in inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities since 2003. She is a board approved supervisor for provisionally licensed counselors.

Mary Beth is new to Cedar Ridge Counseling Centers, but has over 20 years of experience in the field of social work. Early in her career Mary Beth specialized in children and families; however, over the past 15 years has been working with adults as her primary area of interest.

Mary Beth’s clinical focus includes treating depression, anxiety disorders, grief/loss, parenting and relationship Issues, self-esteem and stress/coping.

She utilizes a holistic approach to treatment and welcomes feedback from clients throughout the treatment process. She has experience in mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic approaches.

Laura Humphries, LMSW, earned her Master’s of Social Work degree in clinical studies from the Catholic University of America and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from University of Maryland. Laura worked during her graduate studies at Maryland Treatment Centers providing therapy, psychoeducation, and case management to clients recovering from addiction, as well as their families. She also trained at the Office of Employee Assistance at the US House of Representatives where she counseled clients on a range of mental health and life challenges, as well as workplace issues and career transitions. Laura also brings several years of experience working in the private sector, and, in addition to working as a therapist, helps small companies with staffing needs and employee assessments. She also holds a life coaching certificate from the Coaches Training Institute.

Laura’s areas of expertise include relationship and attachment issues, addiction and substance abuse, depression, anxiety, life and career transitions, workplace stress, grief, and bereavement.

She approaches each client as a unique individual and utilizes therapy modalities tailored to their needs and situation. In partnering with clients on their journey, she often employs psychodynamic approaches to develop insight into early life and family foundations, simultaneous with cognitive behavioral and other techniques that provide clients with lasting tools for self-understanding and growth. This is done within the context of a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship.

Laura works with adults, couples, and adolescents, and is currently accepting new clients at our Eldersburg location. Virtual Telehealth sessions are also available.
