Allison has experience working with individuals dealing with life transitions, mood disorders, trauma, gender and sexuality, reproductive issues, and neurodiversity.

Allison practices from a trauma-informed lens and has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She additionally pulls from cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and humanistic theory in her work. Allison assists clients in achieving a greater sense of balance, fulfillment, and empowerment

Tori Shequine, LCPC, received her MA in clinical psychology from Towson University. A licensed professional counselor, specializing in relationship issues, abuse and trauma, Tori has been able to positively impact her clients by tailoring her approach to the client’s unique personal needs. Utilizing a holistic approach, Tori draws from cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, transpersonal, and existential traditions, together with alternative therapies backed up by the latest research, to alleviate suffering and gain a sense of empowerment in one’s life. Tori has trained with Jon Kabat-Zinn in Mindfulness for Healthcare Professionals and Bellaruth Naperstak in Guided Imagery and Visualization.

Sharon Huffman, MS, LCPC is an experienced Child and Family Therapist, having spent over twenty years working in Head Start programs, public mental health agencies, and private practice. She also has extensive experience working with children with special needs to help them be included in childcare and school programs. Her experiences include teaching social skills groups, assisting families with home-based routines, coaching families on parenting practices, and supporting families in the IFSP/IEP process.

Sharon has always been a “kid” person and, in addition to her professional experience, provided home day care when her children were younger, and is the mother of five children, one with special needs. This combination of professional and personal experiences allows Sharon to see things from many perspectives and understand families’ challenges. Sharon meets clients where they are, always assuming they are doing the best they can. She combines play therapy, art-based therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy with client-centered approaches to assist children, teens, and families in attaining the skills needed to improve relationships and develop age-appropriate coping skills.

Cathy’s career is coming full circle as she returns to the therapy room after 24 years of teaching in the Social Work Department at McDaniel College. During these years, she served as Professor, Department Chair, Director of Field Education and Program Director. Prior to this, she served as a clinical social worker for 13 years in a variety of settings, although mostly worked with individuals and their families challenged with eating disorders, alcoholism, and other mental health issues including anxiety, depression, and attachment insecurities. She also has extensive experience in grief and loss, sexual trauma, acquired disabilities, issues faced by the LGBT+ community, and relational conflict. Cathy is culturally competent and sensitive to the issues of diverse populations.

Cathy earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Western Maryland/McDaniel College, her master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland, and her doctorate in Social work from the Smith College School of Social Work. She mostly practices from a psychodynamic perspective, although is also well informed in motivational interviewing, solution focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems theory. Essentially, Cathy offers a strength based relational approach as the foundation for enacting change, building resilience, and/or finding solace.

She enjoys working individually with both adolescents and adults. She has intervened with a range of family compositions and partnerships. Cathy recognizes and appreciates the fears and apprehensions many people encounter when considering counseling and she encourages folks to take the risk and bring these concerns with them to the session and then determine whether or not embarking upon the therapeutic journey is the best choice for you.

Christina, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, is a dedicated national certified licensed clinical professional counselor whose professional journey began in 2009 within the banking industry, where she provided foundational financial counseling. Driven by a passion for service, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology with honors and a minor in Psychological Services from Coppin State University in 2010. To further her clinical expertise, she enrolled at Liberty University in 2015 and graduated with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling in 2018.

With a focus on promoting holistic wellness, Christina specializes in grief, trauma, crisis management, and Christian counseling. Her therapeutic practice is dedicated to helping clients navigate complex life chapters by supporting those experiencing life and role transitions, such as non-traditional college students, individuals navigating career changes or divorce, and professionals managing home and work-life stressors. She also works deeply with relational dynamics to address marital issues and resolve conflict within family, peer, and romantic relationships. Furthermore, Christina facilitates personal growth by helping clients with confidence building, goal alignment, forgiveness therapy, spiritual growth, and the deep exploration of purpose.

Christina utilizes an individualized, compassionate, and eclectic-oriented approach to ensure every client feels heard and supported. She believes her true purpose is fulfilled through her work in the counseling field and is deeply committed to making a lasting, positive impact on the mental health and well-being of others.
